This was a fun and educative way of getting me to expand beyond a single way of drawing with a go to character, a go to face or pose etc. I was informed about perspective and the benefit of using references to elevate your art. I also enjoyed the insane prompts surrounding telephones as a way to spark creativity by forming something unlikely to occur in real life. My main take away is that illustrators go through many drafts and selective design choices that reflect the energy of a character. I should not expect my first outcome to be the final. To avoid doing this, as I am prone to it, I will be using the technique of simplifying a character fork into shaped and then inking or rendering on top to create them. Rather than jumping straight into detail I will also get a better idea of the anatomy of the character im drawing as a whole.
